The Stress-Free Host: A Guide to Caring for Your Fine Linens

The number one reason people avoid using beautiful table linens is the fear of stains. “What if someone spills red wine?” or “What about tomato sauce?” We believe that your best linens should be used every day, not hidden in a drawer.

Immediate Action: The Golden Rule

Our Cotton-PES blend is designed to be user-friendly. If a spill occurs, do not rub. Rubbing pushes the liquid deeper into the fibers. Instead, take a clean white cloth or paper towel and blot the area. The PES content helps hold the liquid on the surface longer, giving you time to soak it up before it sets.

Washing for Longevity

To keep your linens looking brand new for years, follow these simple steps:

  • Temperature: Wash at 30°C to 40°C (86°F – 104°F). High heat is the enemy of natural cotton fibers and can cause shrinkage.
  • Detergent: Use a mild liquid detergent. Avoid bleach at all costs, as it weakens the fibers and dulls the colors over time.
  • Drying: Avoid the tumble dryer if possible. Air-drying your runners and placemats flat prevents unnecessary wrinkling and preserves the fabric’s shape.

The Art of the Easy Iron

Because of our specific fabric blend, you’ll find that these pieces are much easier to iron than 100% linen or 100% cotton. For the best results, iron while the fabric is still slightly damp using a medium heat setting. They will crisp up instantly, looking as though they just arrived from the boutique.
